Daniel is an expert historian in French History. There are bits of American History tied into the French Revolutionarily war which is scandalous. Thomas Jefferson and John Adams our founding fathers had their hands in the France Revolution but you’ll have to take the tour to find out more. We certainly enjoyed Daniel as he is great storyteller. I loved how he not only had stories that shaped France but our world. It’s not a conspiracy that all the countries history are connected. Thank you Daniel for all your hard work and research. It certainly paid off and was an entertaining way to spend our afternoon. I’ll be back for another adventure.

The tour was split up into different distinct stories told at different locations in the city. The stories cover different periods of history, this gives a quick but adequate overview of the monarchy. The tour guide was also able to go beyond his own prepared material.

I consider myself relatively historically erudite and booked the tour mostly for my 15 year-old who's a fan of medieval European history and intrigue. My expectations weren't sky-high: a few cute historical anecdotes at a handful of important locations would've been enough. Instead, what we got was a highly entertaining and eye opening oral and visual tour of the crucial incidents that forever altered not just French, but world history. When it comes to storytelling, Daniel has a rare combination of charm, humor, and encyclopedic historical knowledge that effectively synthesizes a series of seemingly random historical Paris moments into a grand narrative that helped me to better understand not just the city, but the entire French and European history of the past 1,000 years. This is not just for history nerds, but for anyone who's looking for something a little bit different and deeper than your typical historical highlights. I can't recommend this tour enough.

About Your Guide
After 6 years working as a tour guide in one of the most prestigious tour operators in the city and more than 500 five star reviews on TripAdvisor, I decided that I have enough experience to go and try to build something on my own. Knowing the business inside-out, I realised that there was a better way to teach visitors of our city about it's impact on world history. Many tours consider their customers as not smart enough and prefer toning the stories down to make everything palatable for everyone. Others bore you with too much dry information delivered in a monotone way. And many stories are never told because of a lack of “hook” as they say.
There had to be a better way and I found it ! Ode to Paris is a result of 2 years of intense work, research and testing that delivers my “new tour formula”. Stories that are never told and delivered in a dynamic and entertaining way whilst also going deep enough to make the stories relevant and leaving a deep impression on the listener. Connections are delivered between events, concepts and on how the modern world was born out of those events while also giving you plenty of Movie, Video-Game, Series, YouTube, Podcast and Reading recommendations.
